The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) deployed police personnel to Doña Juana Elementary School in Barangay Holy Spirit on Tuesday, July 14, after a screenshot alleging a threat against the school circulated on social media.
QCPD said the deployment was made to increase police visibility, secure the area, and coordinate with school officials, the School Parents-Teachers Association, barangay officials, and other concerned stakeholders.
The Holy Spirit Police Station 14 also conducted intelligence validation to determine the authenticity and credibility of the circulating post.
Police said no unusual activity, suspicious person, or credible threat had been monitored within or around the school.
Initial assessment showed that the word “DONYA” in the screenshot did not match the official name of Doña Juana Elementary School, leading some stakeholders to believe that the message may not refer to the school.
Despite this, QCPD said it has started cyber tracing to determine the origin of the viral Facebook Messenger threat, identify the person behind the account “Lucas Garcia,” and verify the authenticity of the screenshot.
The QCPD said heightened police presence will remain in place while coordination continues with school authorities, barangay officials, and partner agencies.
Police urged the public to verify information before sharing it online and to immediately report suspicious activities to the nearest police station, 911, or the QC Helpline 122.
