US business leaders to explore new investment opportunities in Philippines
A group of senior company executives based in the United States (US) will visit the country in August for a business mission to explore investment opportunities and advance the economic partnership between Manila and Washington.
In a notice seen by Manila Bulletin, the US-ASEAN Business Council (USABC) said it will hold its annual Philippine business mission in Manila from Aug. 18 to 20.
USABC said the business mission aims to reinforce the role of US companies as the Philippines’ long-term partners in driving innovation, resilience, and sustainable growth.
It will bring together American executives, as well as Philippine government and private sector leaders, to explore potential public-private partnerships (PPPs).
According to USABC, these initiatives are expected to support the Philippines’ economic development priorities, chairship of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), and digital transformation efforts.
USABC said American business leaders will also pursue opportunities in trade and investment, energy, infrastructure, healthcare, agriculture, defense, and emerging technologies.
The business mission coincides with the 80th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the Philippines and the US.
During last year’s mission, USABC said the Philippines was primarily focused on attracting investors to participate in PPPs to accelerate infrastructure development and advance digitalization.
“Strong US-Philippines ties and the country’s ASEAN 2026 Chairship present opportunities to deepen cooperation on supply chains, expand digital integration, and strengthen cooperation on emerging technologies and energy,” it said.
As part of its efforts to further strengthen the partnership between the two countries, USABC also held an aerospace, defense, and security (ADS) mission in August last year.
The ADS mission connected some of the US’ largest defense firms with key government officials to explore potential partnerships in defense modernization, aerospace development, and security advancements.
The upcoming business mission organized by USABC will mark the second straight month that a US delegation has visited the country, following a trade mission by a group of more than 25 American business executives and investors from July 6 to 10.
Organized by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), the delegation met with government leaders and local companies to explore business, tourism, and investment opportunities.
The DTI said the visit came at a time when the Philippines was actively positioning itself as a key partner for US companies looking to expand in Asia.
