Reckitt Philippines, Inc. has donated P283,421 worth of hygiene and health products to the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) to support relief operations for families affected by the magnitude 7.8 earthquake in Mindanao.

The donation adds to Reckitt Philippines’ previous support for the Philippine Red Cross. In 2020, the company donated P36 million to establish the PRC Molecular Laboratory in Cagayan de Oro to expand COVID-19 testing capacity during the pandemic. A year later, it provided another P7 million to support the organization’s COVID-19 response efforts.

The in-kind donation was formally turned over at the PRC National Headquarters by Reckitt Philippines General Manager and President Kinshuk Kunwar and Atty. Diana Mari of the company’s Communications and Corporate Affairs Department during a meeting with PRC Chairman and CEO Richard J. Gordon and PRC Secretary-General Dr. Gwendolyn Pang.

During the turnover, General Manager Kunwar underscored Reckitt’s commitment to building healthier and more resilient communities. 

“Our purpose at Reckitt is to protect, heal and nurture in the relentless pursuit of a cleaner, healthier world. We need to make sure that we can partner with the communities to build the whole hygiene and health in that community. We want to build resilience in that community,” he said.

Also, Kunwar recognized PRC’S extensive humanitarian network, noting that the partnership enables Reckitt to extend its health and hygiene solutions to the country’s most vulnerable communities.

Gordon, meanwhile, emphasized the value of enduring partnerships in advancing humanitarian work. 

“At the Philippine Red Cross, we believe that lasting humanitarian impact is made possible through enduring partnerships. Reckitt Philippines, through Lysol, Mortein, Strepsils, and Gaviscon, has been a valued and trusted partner of the Philippine Red Cross for many years. We will always remember their generosity in helping establish our Molecular Laboratory in Cagayan de Oro during the COVID-19 pandemic,” he said.

“Today, they once again demonstrate that same commitment by standing with us as we bring relief and hope to families affected by the Mindanao earthquake. We are deeply grateful for partners like Reckitt who continue to stand with us in our mission of preventing and alleviating human suffering. Together, we are able to reach more communities, respond more swiftly to disasters, and make a meaningful difference in the lives of those who need us most,” he added.

For her part, Pang also expressed her appreciation for Reckitt’s continued support.
