Pokwang says Malia has no desire to see her father, Lee O'Brian

Actress-comedian Pokwang revealed that her daughter, Malia, has no interest in reconnecting with her father, American actor Lee O'Brian.

Speaking on a recent episode of Ogie Diaz's YouTube show "Showbiz Updates," Pokwang was asked about Malia's relationship with her father now that she is old enough to better understand what's happening around her.

Ogie said, "Siyempre, ang aking inaanak na si Malia ay nagkakamalay na unti-unti sa mga nangyayaring kaganapan sa paligid niya?" 

Pokwang replied that Malia has no desire to see Lee, adding that she had asked her daughter directly if she wanted to meet him someday.

"Wala. Ito ha, walang echos, mare. Sinabi ko sa kanya, tinanong ko siya, gusto mo bang makita someday si Pudreks (read: pudra, tatay)? Sabi niya, 'No. Why should I?'"

According to Pokwang, she even reminded Malia that Lee is still her father.
"Sabi ko, siyempre tatay mo pa rin ‘yan kahit paano. (Sabi ni Malia), ‘No, you’re the one who provides for me.’ Walang echos ‘to ha. Sinabi niya talaga sa akin ‘yon,” Pokwang related.
In the same interview, Pokwang reiterated that she is more than willing to see the two reunite and that she had told Malia about it.
"Sinabi ko sa kanya, ‘Just in case na dumating ang oras na gusto mong makita, okay lang. Walang problema.' Pero sabi niya, ‘No need,’” Pokwang said.
In June 2023, Pokwang filed a deportation case against her former partner.
Lee was ultimately deported from the Philippines in April 2024.
Pokwang and Lee were in a relationship from 2015 to 2021; they welcomed Malia in 2018.
