Former American professor shot dead in Negros Oriental

BACOLOD CITY – A 73-year-old former American professor was shot dead inside his home in Barangay Ajong, Sibulan, Negros Oriental on Sunday, July 12.
Investigation said that the victim and his wife were watching television when three unidentified persons barged inside their house.
One of the suspects shot the victim in the head. The victim died on the spot while his wife was unharmed. The suspects fled.
Police Capt. Stephen Polinar, spokesperson of the Negros Oriental police, said the victim was a former professor at Siliman University in Dumaguete City.
A Special Investigation Task Group (SITG) is probing the incident. People with information were urged to contact the police.
