The Caloocan City government has expanded its employment program for persons with disability (PWDs) through a partnership with a private company.
Mayor Dale Gonzalo “Along” Malapitan led the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement for “Project Ability and Mobility,” which aims to help qualified PWDs find jobs that match their skills.
According to the city’s Public Information Office, the program is part of its commitment to make employment opportunities more accessible to all residents, especially those who continue to face barriers in joining the workforce.
Through the initiative, qualified PWDs will be connected with employers and given better access to meaningful work.
Malapitan said the city government will continue to promote equal rights, opportunities, and recognition for PWDs.
“Tiwala po tayo sa kakayahan ng ating mga kababayan at titiyakin natin na sa ating liderato ay nabibigyan sila ng pantay na karapatan, oportunidad, at pagpapahalaga (We believe in the abilities of our fellow citizens, and under our leadership, we will ensure that they are given equal rights, opportunities, and recognition),” he said.
The mayor added that every resident deserves the chance to contribute to the community and build a better future through decent work.
