A 32-year-old woman was arrested after authorities seized around 50 grams of suspected shabu worth P340,000 during an intelligence-driven buy-bust operation in Tondo, Manila, the Manila Police District (MPD) said.

The operation was carried out by the MPD Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) along Mel Lopez Boulevard (R-10), Barangay 105, where operatives arrested the suspect after she allegedly sold illegal drugs to an undercover police officer.

Police identified the suspect only by her alias “Jo,” a resident of the temporary housing site in Barangay 105, Tondo. Authorities tagged her as an alleged drug pusher believed to be operating in Tondo and nearby areas.

Recovered from the suspect were approximately 50 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated standard drug price of P340,000, the marked buy-bust money, and other non-drug evidence related to the operation.

The seized substances will be submitted to the Philippine National Police Forensic Group for laboratory examination and confirmation.

The suspect remains under the custody of the MPD Drug Enforcement Unit and is facing charges for violating Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs) and Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs) of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

The MPD said the operation forms part of its intensified anti-illegal drug campaign aimed at dismantling the distribution of prohibited drugs in Manila and bringing those involved in the illegal drug trade to justice.
