Korean tourist arrested for assaulting Filipina partner in Pasay
A South Korean tourist was arrested after allegedly physically assaulting his Filipina live-in partner inside their condominium unit in Pasay City on Saturday, July 11.
Pasay City Police chief Col. Joselito De Sesto identified the suspect only as "Hyun," 36, a South Korean national staying in the country as a tourist. He was arrested at around 6 p.m. inside a condominium along Roxas Boulevard in Barangay 7.
According to De Sesto, the 26-year-old Filipina victim escaped from their 37th-floor unit and sought help from security personnel at the condominium lobby after fearing for her life.
The victim stated that the suspect repeatedly slapped her, physically attacked her body, and forced her to kneel on the floor.
The condo security guard accompanied the victim back to the unit, where she positively identified the suspect. The personnel immediately restrained him and sought assistance from the Pasay City Police.
The suspect was taken into custody and brought to the Pasay City Police Women and Children Protection Desk (WCPD) for investigation and the filing of appropriate charges.
