ZAMBOANGA CITY – The Coast Guard Station here on Sunday joined the “Tunog ng Karagatan,” a nationwide ceremony to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the 2016 South China Sea Arbitral Award.
The event was marked through the simultaneous blowing of ships’ horns at the Port of Zamboanga.
The ceremony was characterized by 10 horn blasts for one minute, an event to remind the people not only of the arbitral ruling, but also the continuing commitment of the Philippines in upholding the country’s sovereignty by guarding its territory.
Among the vessels that participated are those of the Philippine Coast Guard and PNP Maritime Group and domestic vessels berthed at the port here.
