Blu Girls upbeat on WBSC Women's Softball World Cup Group Stage campaign

The Philippine Blu Girls remain upbeat on their chances when the WBSC Women’s Softball World Cup 2026 Group Stage unfolds on Tuesday, July 14, to July 18 at the Villa Maria del Triunfo Softball Stadium in Lima, Peru.
The Nationals left last week to give ample time in their final phase of preparations following a rigid two-week training camp in Nagoya, Japan and further boosted their skills and morale.
“Gagawin namin ang lahat ng aming makakaya and we will show how competitive the Filipinas are on the world stage. Bibigyan natin sila ng magandang laban,” said blu Girls team coach Ana Santiago.
Amateur Softball Association of the Philippines (ASAPHIL) President Jean Henri Lhuillier echoed the sentiment, adding that the tournament presents another opportunity for the Blu Girls to prove their worth against the world’s elite.
“Our players have worked tirelessly to prepare for this moment, and we are confident they will represent the Philippines with heart, discipline, and resilience. Every game is an opportunity to showcase the growth of Philippine softball and demonstrate that our athletes can compete with the very best on the international stage,” said Lhuillier, also the Cebuana Lhuillier CEO that has been a long-time supporter of the squad.

The WBSC Women’s Softball World Cup 2026 Group Stage serves as a crucial step toward qualification for the 2027 WBSC Women’s Softball World Cup Finals in Redcliffe, Australia, and forms part of the pathway to the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games.
