The legal proceedings surrounding Barbie Hsu’s estate have been resolved, with her former husband Wang Xiaofei confirming that he respects DJ Koo’s inheritance rights as the late actress’ surviving spouse.

According to reports from The Korea Times, Wang’s legal team confirmed that the estate distribution process has been settled in accordance with Taiwanese inheritance law.

The legal team previously requested the appointment of a special representative to protect the interests of Wang and Barbie’s two underage children. The representative oversaw the estate proceedings, ensuring that the children’s rights and inheritance were properly protected throughout the process.

Under the finalized arrangement, Barbie’s two children will inherit a combined two-thirds of her estate, while Koo will receive the remaining one-third as her legal spouse.

Wang’s side also confirmed that a trust account has been established to manage the children’s inherited assets. The businessman said he respects Koo’s decision regarding his share of the estate.

Following Barbie’s death, Koo previously shared that the assets were earned through her dedication and hard work during her lifetime and said he intended to entrust his inheritance rights to Barbie’s mother.

The settlement also addressed concerns surrounding Barbie’s former residence in Taipei. Wang continued making mortgage payments on the property to prevent financial difficulties from affecting their children. His legal team clarified that the home would not be auctioned and denied reports suggesting that Barbie’s mother would be forced to leave.

The family has agreed that future matters involving asset management and the children’s living arrangements will continue to be handled according to legal procedures, with their best interests remaining the priority.

Barbie Hsu married Chinese businessman Wang Xiaofei in 2011, and the couple welcomed a son and daughter before divorcing in 2021.

In 2022, Barbie reunited with and married Koo, a member of first-generation K-pop duo CLON, more than two decades after their initial relationship ended.
