Personnel from the City Veterinary Services Office (CVSO), National Meat Inspection Service (NMIS), and National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) led the operations.
On Friday, July 10, authorities seized 7,600.21 kilos of expired imported frozen meat products, including beef, pork, and chicken, that were allegedly being sold online in Barangay Arkong Bato.
In a separate operation on Saturday, July 11, the CVSO confiscated 6,941.36 kilos of food products in Barangay Gen. T. de Leon.
The seized items included pork, beef, chicken, French fries, assorted vegetables, duck breast, and various seafood products.
Authorities said the products were declared unsafe for human consumption after inspection and would be properly disposed of.
The city government reminded the public to buy meat and other food products only from legitimate and trusted establishments.
It added that the confiscated products would be turned over to the Bureau of Animal Industry for proper disposal.
Residents may report suspicious meat products or food items to the CVSO at 8352-2000 local 2111.
