The Manila Police District (MPD) issued a traffic advisory for the National Peace Walk, which will be held in Manila on Sunday, July 12.
The activity will start and end at the Quirino Grandstand. Participants will proceed to Kalaw Avenue Extension, turn right onto the southbound lane of Roxas Boulevard, make a U-turn at United Nations Avenue, take the northbound lane of Roxas Boulevard, turn left onto Katigbak Parkway, and return to the Quirino Grandstand.
The MPD said the first road closure will begin at 5 p.m. on Saturday, July 11, covering the stretch of Independence Road from Katigbak Drive to South Road.
Vehicles heading to hotels near the Quirino Grandstand, including the Manila Hotel, Rizal Park Hotel, and Hotel H2O, may use the zipper lane.
Additional road closures will be implemented starting at 5 a.m. on Sunday, July 12, along portions of Roxas Boulevard and Kalaw Avenue.
The affected areas include the northbound lane of Roxas Boulevard from Katigbak Drive to President Quirino Avenue, the southbound lane of Roxas Boulevard from Katigbak Drive to Pedro Gil Street, and Kalaw Avenue from M.H. del Pilar Street to Roxas Boulevard.
Trucks and trailer trucks from the Delpan area bound for the southbound lane of Roxas Boulevard will be diverted to P. Burgos Avenue and Finance Road.
Vehicles from P. Burgos Avenue heading to the southbound lane of Roxas Boulevard will be diverted to Bonifacio Drive.
Motorists from Jones, McArthur, and Quezon bridges bound for the southbound lane of Roxas Boulevard may take the Round Table toward Maria Orosa Street or proceed to Taft Avenue.
Vehicles from the westbound lane of Kalaw Avenue heading to the southbound lane of Roxas Boulevard will be diverted to M.H. del Pilar Street.
Motorists from United Nations Avenue going to Roxas Boulevard will be directed to the Roxas Boulevard service road.
Vehicles from the westbound lane of President Quirino Avenue heading to the southbound lane of Roxas Boulevard will be diverted to Adriatico Street.
Trailer trucks and other heavy vehicles from Pasay using the northbound lane of Roxas Boulevard will be diverted to President Quirino Avenue, while light vehicles may use the northbound service road.
The MPD advised motorists to take alternate routes and expect possible traffic buildup in the affected areas.
