Senator Rodante Marcoleta on Saturday, June 11, told the public that he would see them "sooner or later", as he urged them to continue advocating for transparency, accountability, justice, and democracy.
In a Facebook post, Marcoleta acknowledged his temporary separation from his supporters but encouraged them to remain steadfast in advancing what he described as the country's long-standing aspirations.
"Kahit nagkalayo po tayo pansamantala, ipagpatuloy pa rin po natin ang ating sama-samang pagpapahayag sa buong mundo na nawa ay makamit na natin ang matagal na nating karaingan ukol sa pamamayani ng transparency, accountability, katarungan, at ng demokrasya (Even though we are temporarily apart, let us continue our collective expression to the whole world, that we may finally achieve our long-standing call for the triumph of transparency, accountability, justice, and democracy)," the senator wrote.
Marcoleta said these principles were essential to achieving stability, peace, order, and prosperity for the country and its people.
"Ang mga bagay na ito ay kailangan para sa pagkakaroon ng katatagan, kapayapaan, kaayusan, at kasaganaan na inaasam ng ating bansa at ng kanyang mga mamamayan (These things are necessary for the attainment of stability, peace, order, and prosperity that our nation and its people aspire to)," he added.
The first-time senator also expressed optimism that he would eventually see his supporters again.
"Diyan lamang po kayo, dahil sa malaon at madali ay muli tayong magkikita-kita, sa tulong ng ating dakilang Diyos na mapagmahal at mapagmalasakit (Just stay where you are, for sooner or later we will meet again, with the help of our great God who is loving and compassionate)," Marcoleta said.
Marcoleta ended his message by thanking his supporters and saying, "Mahal ko po kayong lahat (I love you all)!"
The post came a day after the Sandiganbayan Third Division held a hearing to receive updates on Marcoleta's health condition in connection with the plunder case he was facing.
