The city government led the distribution of the livelihood packages on Saturday, July 11, at the Hulong Duhat Covered Court.
The assistance aims to help beneficiaries start or sustain their source of income.
The beneficiaries included families under the Child Labor Prevention and Elimination Program, small entrepreneurs, and individuals seeking to rebuild their livelihoods and establish a stable source of income.
Mayor Jeannie Sandoval said the assistance is more than just business capital, as it also gives families an opportunity to become more self-reliant and build a better future.
“Kapag nabigyan natin ng pagkakataon ang isang pamilya na magkaroon ng sariling kabuhayan, nabibigyan din natin sila ng pag-asa at kakayahang itaguyod ang kanilang mga pangarap (When we give a family the opportunity to have its own livelihood, we also give them hope and the ability to pursue their dreams),” she said.
Sandoval added that the city government will continue supporting programs that provide more livelihood opportunities for Malabueños.
The program was led by DOLE-CAMANAVA Director II Atty. Joel Petaca in partnership with the Malabon City Public Employment Service Office (PESO), headed by officer-in-charge Luziel Gutierrez.
The city government said its continued partnership with DOLE aims to help more families rebuild their livelihoods, become more resilient, and secure a better future.
