CEBU CITY – Several passengers were stranded in various ports in Cebu and Bohol after several sea trips were cancelled on Friday, July 10.
The trip cancellations were due to rough sea conditions from the typhoon Inday-enhanced southwest monsoon.
The Philippine Coast Guard-Central Visayas (PCG-7) confirmed that as of 12 noon on Friday, at least 94 passengers were stranded after several trips remained suspended.
Six trips in Cebu City and two each in the ports of Toledo City, Lapu-Lapu City and Olango, and one each in Danao City and Cordova were cancelled.
In northern Cebu, several trips in Bogo City, Daanbantayan, and Camotes Island were also cancelled after vessels 35 gross tons (GT) and below were not allowed to sail.
Vessels of three GT and below in Madridejos and Tabogon and 15 GT and below in Asturias were not allowed to sail.
Also, all motorized bancas in Malapascua were prohibited from sailing.
