TACLOBAN CITY – Police Col. Marben Ordonia is the new chief of police here.
Ordonia replaced Police Col. Noelito Getigan who had served two years.
The Police Regional Office-8 said that Getigan’s relief is a regular movement in the Philippine National Police. Getigan was reassigned to the Regional Personnel Holding and Accounting Unit while awaiting his next assignment.
PRO-8 added that Getigan was not relieved because of the shooting incident that claimed three lives and injured 20 individuals at San Jose National High School here last month.
“It has been the greatest honor of my career to lead this remarkable family, professionals who serve with courage, compassion, and unwavering dedication,” Getigan said.
“Together, we have faced challenges, celebrated victories, and most importantly, fulfilled our sworn duty to serve and protect the people of Tacloban City,” he added.
Ordonia, from Northern Samar, served as chief of the Regional Intelligence Division at the PRO-8.
