ENHYPEN leader Jungwon has publicly addressed the growing division within the group's fandom, making it clear that the K-pop boy band now consists of six members and urging fans to stop fueling conflict over former member Heeseung's departure.
Heeseung left ENHYPEN in March to pursue a solo career under the stage name Evan while remaining under Belift Lab. Since then, the group's fandom, ENGENEs, has been split between those supporting the current six-member lineup and those continuing to insist that "ENHYPEN is seven."
The issue has become increasingly visible during the group's Blood Saga Tour, with differing fan chants and online disputes spilling over into concerts.
Speaking during a livestream on fan platform Weverse, Jungwon said he understood why some fans still cherished ENHYPEN's original seven-member lineup but stressed that the group has moved forward.
"I understand the feelings of those who loved our past image. But now ENHYPEN consists of six members," he said.
Jungwon admitted that the ongoing arguments among fans have become frustrating and have even affected the group's performances.
"I understand the cheering methods used at concerts because we haven't spoken clearly about this until now. But it is not pleasant to see the ENGENEs fighting among themselves. To be honest, it even interferes with the performance," he said.
The ENHYPEN leader also urged fans to stop using the slogan "ENHYPEN is seven," saying it only encourages further division within the fandom.
"Now that I have spoken clearly like this, I think those who truly love ENHYPEN will know for themselves how they will act in the future. From now on, saying 'ENHYPEN is seven' is just telling us to fight among ourselves," he said.
He added that he no longer considers those who deliberately provoke conflict to be fans.
"No one wants our fans to fight among themselves. Neither the company, nor the ENGENEs, nor, above all, the six of us want this. From now on, I intend to consider anyone who instigates conflict not a fan," he said.
Jungwon said he was speaking not only for himself but also for the other members, adding that the continued infighting has overshadowed performances despite fans spending time and money to attend the group's concerts.
Despite Jungwon's appeal, some fans vowed to continue supporting the seven-member lineup.
An X account identifying itself as the ENHYPEN India Fanbase wrote: "This protest is only as strong as the unity behind it. Let's stand together, support one another, and make our voices impossible to ignore. WE STAND WITH ALL SEVEN."
The account added that it would continue supporting both ENHYPEN and Heeseung but would not use hashtags promoted by OT6 fanbases, OT1 fanbases, or the company.
