Ellen Adarna opens up about post-pregnancy body shaming: 'Tinawag akong losyang'
Actress Ellen Adarna got candid recently opening up about the body-shaming she experienced after giving birth, shedding light on the pressure many mothers face to quickly "bounce back" after pregnancy.
During her guest appearance on Alex Gonzaga's latest vlog, Ellen recalled receiving hurtful comments about her appearance after welcoming her children, Elias and Lili.
Jokingly addressing Alex's husband, Mikee Morada, Ellen offered a reminder for future fathers.
"'Pag nanganak na si Alex, 'wag mong sabihang losyang na siya ha. Ako napagsabihan na akong losyang," she said.
Surprised, Alex asked why anyone would describe Ellen that way.
Ellen then shared some of the comments she received after becoming a mother.
"Losyang na raw ako. 'Wala na raw papatol sa akin kasi ang lawlaw na raw ng ano ko, tapos losyang na raw," she recalled.
Her story struck a chord with many mothers who have faced similar criticism after pregnancy, when physical changes often become the subject of unsolicited remarks.
Despite those experiences, Ellen said motherhood has brought her a deeper sense of fulfillment, adding that she is happy raising her two children.
Her candid remarks also served as a reminder that recovering from childbirth looks different for every woman, and that new mothers deserve support rather than judgment.
