LO
CEBU CITY – President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has appointed a Cebuano businessman as presidential assistant for the Visayas.
Philip Lo took his oath before Marcos in Malacañang on Wednesday, July 8.
As chief of the Office of the Presidential Assistant for the Visayas, Lo is taking over a key post that coordinates national government programs in the region. He replaced Terence Calatrava.
Lo thanked the President for the appointment and vowed to serve as a link between the Office of the President and the people of the Visayas.
"I sincerely thank the President for giving me the opportunity to serve as the presidential assistant for the Visayas. I will serve as a bridge between the people of the Visayas and the Office of the President," Lo said.
He said he would work closely with national government agencies, local government units, and other stakeholders to help bring government programs and services to communities across the Visayas.
"One of my goals is to make the government more accessible, responsive, and effective for every Visayan," he said.
OPAV coordinates the implementation of national government programs and projects in the region. Lo is expected to work with government agencies and local officials to help advance the administration's development priorities.
Lo’s appointment came as the Marcos administration continues to pursue projects aimed at improving public services, infrastructure, investment, and economic growth in the Visayas.
