Caprice Cayetano is enjoying life one 'sidequest' at a time
By Neil Ramos
Fresh from a major milestone in her young career, Caprice Cayetano isn't rushing to figure out what comes next.
Instead, the 17-year-old actress is embracing what she calls her "sidequest era."
Away from the cameras, Caprice has been filling her free time with hobbies that have little to do with acting and everything to do with discovering new sides of herself.
"Whenever I have free time after work, I explore different sidequests," Caprice shares. "I make bracelets, play mobile games, and hopefully soon, I'll start baking pastries."
For the rising actress, every new hobby has become a chance to learn something new about herself.
Bracelet-making, for one, has become a creative escape that also reminds her of her mother, who used to make and sell handmade accessories.
"That's where I realized how patient I can be," she says. "You string the beads one by one, and when you finish, there's a different kind of fulfillment."
Her next goal, meanwhile, is inspired by another family member.
"I'm really excited to try baking pastries. If Daddy is known for his main dishes, maybe someday I'll be known for pastries," she says with a laugh.
Like many teenagers, gaming has also become one of her favorite ways to unwind whenever work slows down.
"I discovered mobile gaming through my cousins, who are also my best friends. They're my gaming squad."
Those little detours, she says, have helped her discover who she is beyond the characters she portrays on screen.
"I think we Gen Zs enjoy having lots of sidequests because they help us discover new things about ourselves and even the paths we may want to pursue."
That same curiosity extends to the way she expresses herself online.
"I love choosing the songs for my posts because they help tell the story and match the vibe of every photo," she says.
Her online presence has also led to opportunities beyond acting, including a recent collaboration with Smart Prepaid. She sees it as another way to share the things she genuinely enjoys.
To be clear: acting remains her priority, but she's keeping an open mind about what comes next. Vlogging, singing, baking, or whatever new "sidequest" catches her interest are all possibilities she's willing to explore.
Her advice reflects the same mindset she brings to her own life.
"Keep exploring," she says. "Choose sidequests that genuinely make you happy because those experiences help you become the best version of yourself."
At 17, Cayetano isn't in a hurry to have everything figured out. For now, she's content letting curiosity lead the way, one sidequest at a time.
