- After years together and building a life in Siargao, Nadine Lustre opens up about her future with longtime boyfriend Christophe Bariou, revealing why they aren't rushing into marriage—and where she'd like to tie the knot someday.
Is Nadine Lustre getting married anytime soon?
The award-winning actress says not yet.
Lustre addressed the question many fans have been asking about her longtime relationship with Filipino-French entrepreneur Christophe Bariou, revealing that while marriage is definitely something she has imagined, the couple isn't in a hurry to walk down the aisle.
"Wala pa... hindi naman kami nagmamadali," Lustre told reporters when asked if wedding plans are already in the works.
Still, she already has a clear picture of what her dream wedding would look like.
According to the actress, she'd love to exchange vows in Siargao, the island she and Bariou have called home for the past several years.
Because Bariou's family is based in France, Lustre said they would most likely hold another celebration there as well.
The actress spoke about her personal life during the media launch of "Love, Siargao," her upcoming Viu Original series with Alden Richards.
The series marks Lustre's return to the romance genre after years of taking on critically acclaimed dramatic roles. More than another love story, she said the project gave her the chance to showcase the place she now considers home.
"With this, I want people to see the real Siargao, which is, para sa akin, is just a beautiful, warm place. There's a sense of community talaga na mararamdaman mo," she said.
"Love, Siargao" also brings together Lustre and Richards for their first on-screen pairing.
"I'm really happy working with Alden for this. Napaka-down to-earth niya. Ang galing niya makisama so, nakakatuwa. Ang bilis namin nakampante sa isa't isa, which I think is very important lalo na kapag may romance element yung pairing ninyo."
Joining them in the series are Kyline Alcantara, South Korean actor Kim Ji-soo, and a supporting cast.
"Nakakatuwa kasi very chill ang set namin, ang saya," Lustre shared. "Parang siyang hindi work talaga. And all of them, sina Alden, sina Ji-soo, they have fallen in love with Siargao na din."
Outside acting, Lustre said she's continuing to explore different creative pursuits while looking forward to making music again.
"Isa sa ina-eye ko is paggawa uli ng music," she said. "I miss that so, yeah, hopefully soon, I get to do that again."
While fans may continue hoping for wedding bells, Lustre made it clear that she and Bariou are simply enjoying where they are, with no pressure to rush into marriage.
"Love, Siargao" is a collaboration among GMA Network, Viu Philippines, and Viva Entertainment.
