MPD announces road closures, rerouting in Manila due to projected rally on July 10

The Manila Police District (MPD) announced road closures and rerouting schemes in several parts of Manila on Friday, July 10, due to a projected rally by the United People's Initiative (UPI).
Road closures around Liwasang Bonifacio will start at 2 p.m. These include the stretch of Magallanes Drive from Jones Bridge to McArthur Bridge, the southbound lane of McArthur Bridge from Plaza Lacson to Liwasang Bonifacio, the southbound lane of Quezon Boulevard from A. Mendoza/Fugoso Street to Quezon Bridge and Liwasang Bonifacio, and the southbound lane of Lerma Street from España Boulevard/P. Campa Street to A. Mendoza Boulevard.
Meanwhile, road closures in the Mendiola area will begin at 12:01 a.m. These cover the stretch of C.M. Recto Avenue from N. Reyes Street to Mendiola and the stretch of Legarda Street from Figueras Street to San Rafael Street.
Ayala Bridge will also be closed starting at 12:01 a.m., along with the eastbound lane of Ayala Boulevard from San Marcelino Street to Romualdez Street.
The MPD advised motorists to take alternate routes.
Vehicles coming from Plaza Sta. Cruz bound for the southbound lane of McArthur Bridge will be diverted through Dasmariñas Street, Juan Luna Street, Plaza Cervantes, and Jones Bridge.
Motorists coming from A. Mendoza and intending to pass through the southbound lane of Quezon Boulevard via Quezon Bridge will be rerouted through Fugoso Street, T. Mapua Street, and C.M. Recto Avenue.
Those coming from España Boulevard and heading to the southbound lane of Quezon Boulevard via Quezon Bridge will be diverted through N. Reyes Street and C.M. Recto Avenue.
Vehicles from Quezon Boulevard and C.M. Recto Avenue bound for Mendiola Street will be rerouted through N. Reyes Street.
Motorists coming from the Sta. Mesa area via Legarda Street and heading to C.M. Recto Avenue will be diverted through Figueras Street, Earnshaw Street, and S.H. Loyola Street.
Vehicles coming from P. Casal Street and bound for Mendiola Street will be rerouted through San Rafael Street, Bilibid Viejo Street, and Quezon Boulevard.
For motorists heading to Ayala Bridge, vehicles from Romualdez Street may take Ayala Boulevard and Taft Avenue, or proceed through N. Lopez Street, A. Villegas Street, and C. Muñoz Street.
Vehicles from San Marcelino Street may take Ayala Boulevard and Taft Avenue, or continue along San Marcelino Street before turning left to United Nations Avenue.
Motorists using the eastbound lane of Ayala Boulevard going to Ayala Bridge will be diverted to San Marcelino Street.
Vehicles coming from C. Palanca Street and heading to Ayala Bridge will be rerouted to P. Casal Street, while those from P. Casal Street bound for Ayala Bridge will be diverted to C. Palanca Street.
The MPD said the actual implementation of road closures and reopening of affected roads will depend on the prevailing traffic situation.
