Tricycle drivers, bystanders arrested in Tondo over alleged harassment
Police said the group had been the subject of complaints in community Facebook groups, where residents alleged incidents of harassment, including teasing and intimidation, particularly toward security guards assigned at the condominium.
An operation led by PS-1 commander Lt. Col. Ronald De Leon resulted in the arrest of the individuals, who are now facing charges for violating existing laws and local ordinances.
MPD director Police Brig. Gen. Arnold Santiago said the action was carried out in line with the directive to ensure prompt and visible police response to public complaints.
Authorities also coordinated with the property management office and security personnel of Urban Deca Homes Tondo to review and strengthen security measures in the area to prevent similar incidents.
The MPD said it will continue to intensify police visibility, intelligence monitoring, and law enforcement operations against individuals who disrupt peace and order in communities.
Police assured the public that complaints will be acted upon promptly as part of efforts to maintain safety and order in the city.
