SPD probes police officer seen in viral video beating red light in BGC

The Southern Police District (SPD) is investigating a police officer caught on video beating the red light in Bonifacio Global City (BGC), Taguig, at around 10:40 p.m. on July 6.
Authorities said the officer involved has already been identified.

“The Southern Police District is currently conducting an investigation to establish the facts surrounding the incident. The Southern Police District will not tolerate any act that violates the law or undermines the integrity of the organization. The District remains committed to ensuring accountability and upholding the highest standards of discipline and professionalism,” SPD said in a statement. 

It reiterated that the SPD “maintains a policy of accountability and discipline among its ranks” and reminded that every police office is expected to obey the law and serve as role model in road safety and responsible conduct. 

The SPD emphasized that no officer is exempt from the law and that any violation undermining the integrity of the police service will be addressed with fairness and impartiality.
