The Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) will convene its annual Accountancy Week Celebration from July 12 to 18, 2026, pivoting its national agenda toward ethical leadership and the integration of emerging technologies amid rapidly shifting global regulatory environment.
Founded in 1929, the country’s premier professional organization for accountants is pushing for stricter adherence to transparency and governance as local businesses navigate complex macroeconomic headwinds.
This year’s theme, “EMPOWER: Elevate Filipino CPAs Towards Ethical Leadership and Global Excellence,” underscores an institutional push to upskill local professionals against international benchmarks, safeguarding both public interest and investor confidence in the domestic market.
The weeklong summit kicks off on July 12, 2026, with a traditional Thanksgiving Mass and a networking sports tournament. The official opening ceremonies and Metro Manila Day are scheduled for July 13, 2026, at the Century Park Hotel in Manila, a venue expected to draw top-tier financial executives, regulators, educators, and senior accounting students.
Central to the conference is a series of technical symposia targeting the four critical pillars of the local financial ecosystem: Commerce and Industry, Education, Government, and Public Practice. With fiscal policies tightening and digital transformation accelerating across Southeast Asia, PICPA aims to deploy industry experts to address the adoption of automated accounting platforms, artificial intelligence in auditing, and evolving compliance mandates. These sessions are designed to bolster mandatory Continuing Professional Development (CPD) requirements, ensuring Filipino financial practitioners remain competitive in cross-border trade and global corporate services.
Beyond technical training, the schedule emphasizes systemic governance and civic engagement. A dedicated Cooperative Day will highlight community-based financial structures, leading into a high-stakes Regulators' Forum and Roundtable Discussion on July 17, 2026. This forum will bring together key oversight bodies to discuss compliance bottlenecks and policy alignment. The institute will also conduct its Annual Business Meeting and Closing Ceremonies on the same day.
The summit concludes on July 18, 2026, with National Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives and corporate wellness fixtures. As the Philippine corporate sector faces heightened scrutiny regarding Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) metrics, PICPA’s leadership is urging its nationwide membership to actively participate, framing the event as a critical baseline for maintaining accountability and operational integrity in both the public and private sectors.
