The Las Piñas City government has ordered billboard and tower crane owners to inspect and secure their structures ahead of Super Typhoon Inday.
The advisory, issued by the Office of the City Engineer, is part of the city's preemptive measures to reduce the risk of accidents and structural failures that may be caused by the typhoon's strong winds and heavy rainfall.
Mayor April Aguilar urged operators to conduct thorough inspections of billboard frames, foundations, braces, bolts, and support systems to ensure they are structurally sound.
Tower crane operators were likewise advised to follow established safety procedures, including securing crane components, suspending operations when necessary, and ensuring that all equipment is in a safe condition before the weather deteriorates.
Aguilar emphasized that unsecured billboards and construction equipment could pose serious hazards to motorists, pedestrians, nearby establishments, and residential communities during severe weather conditions.
Residents are likewise urged to remain alert, avoid unnecessary travel during the height of the storm, and follow official advisories from the local government and disaster response agencies to help ensure the safety of everyone in the city.
