ILOILO CITY – Police Col. David L. Cachumbo Jr. is the new Capiz police chief.
Cachumbo took over the post in a turnover ceremony presided over by Police Brig. Gen. Randulf Tuaño of Police Regional Office-6 on Monday, July 6, in the provincial capital Roxas City.
Cachumbo, who replaced Police Col. Albert Tapulao, vowed to continue his predecessor’s priority programs and enhance operational strategies to sustain peace and order.
Cachumbo rolled out the Intensified and Integrated Quad Policy and Administrative Support Strategy or IQ PASSED program that would enhance strategies in police intelligence and police community relations. “It should not only be police presence, but the public should be able to feel they are being protected,”Cachumbo explained.
Cachumbo led the PRO-6 Regional Information and Communications Technology Management Division prior to his assignment to Capiz. He was a former deputy city director for operations of the Bacolod City Police Office in Negros Occidental.
Gov. Fredenil Castro challenged the Cachumbo to follow the exemplary performance of Tapulao.
