A suspected "Bahala Na Gang" member was arrested for allegedly collecting bets for the numbers game known as "Basketball Ending" during a police anti-gambling operation in Barangay Masambong, Quezon City, late Tuesday night, July 7.
Police said the suspect, identified only as alias "Enrico," 26, of Barangay Paltok, was apprehended by operatives of the Masambong Police Station (PS 2) at around 11:20 p.m. along Capoas Street.
The operation was launched after authorities received information from a confidential informant about his alleged illegal gambling activities.
Recovered from the suspect were an ending card, a black ballpen, and P600 in alleged bet money in various denominations.
Police said the suspect has previous criminal records, including violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act in 2019 and twice in 2021, theft cases in 2024 and 2025, and a violation of the Illegal Numbers Games Law in March 2026.
He will face another charge under Republic Act No. 9287, or the Illegal Numbers Games Law, before the Quezon City Prosecutor's Office.
