Apexford International Corp. signed a registration agreement with the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) on Monday, July 6, marking the logistics newcomer’s official entry into the country’s tax-incentivized economic zones.
The agreement, signed by PEZA Director General Tereso O. Panga and Apexford President Anthony Aquitania, registers the company as an Ecozone Logistics Enterprise.
Under the framework, Apexford will provide integrated warehousing, supply chain management, and distribution services designed to support existing industrial locators within the PEZA ecosystem.
The move comes as the country seeks to streamline regulatory hurdles and capture a larger share of regional manufacturing. Global supply chains face increasing complexity and tighter delivery windows, driving localized demand for specialized logistics handlers capable of managing duty-free zone-to-zone transfers.
By operating within the PEZA framework, Apexford aims to facilitate smoother cross-border and intra-zone trade for export-oriented manufacturers operating in the Philippines.
“Our decision to locate within the PEZA framework is driven by a deep commitment to the Philippines’ economic future,” Aquitania said, noting that the economic zones provide investors with an established, world-class industrial ecosystem. “We are not here simply to engage in business; we are here to be an active participant in the nation's growth.”
The state-run investment promotion agency has been aggressively marketing its simplified regulatory processes to counter competition from regional peers like Vietnam and Indonesia. PEZA reported continued resilience across its core sectors of manufacturing, infrastructure, and high-value services, framing the Apexford partnership as part of an ongoing effort to generate high-quality employment and boost foreign direct investment inflows.
Looking ahead, Apexford is targeting expansion into emerging geographic corridors. The company is positioning itself to anchor logistics operations for the Mindanao North Passage Special Economic Zone, a PEZA-approved industrial development in Misamis Occidental.
“We are keen to play a part in that project, as we believe in the immense potential of Mindanao as another investment destination,” Aquitania added.
