Wilbert Ross (Facebook)
Wilbert Ross recently opened up about the story behind the viral video showing him helping an elderly woman at an airport.
The actor-singer admitted he was embarrassed by the attention the clip received on social media, saying his gesture was simply an instinctive act of kindness, something he believes many Filipinos would have done.
Hindi lang nabi-video-han o hindi sila artista," he told us during the launch of his signature perfume brand, Strato.
Wilbert went on to share with us a glimpse of how he celebrated his birthday in his hometown last month.
The usual birthday lang naman siya kasama ko po yung family ko and even yung mga friends ko nung high school," Wilbert said.
Instead of having a party typical of a celebrity, Wilbert chose to keep things simple.
Preparation for his Anniversary concert
Celebrating a decade in show business, Wilbert couldn't help but get excited for his upcoming concert on July 27 and 28 at the New Frontier Theater.
Despite his busy schedule, Wilbert puts in actual time and effort to make the series of concerts special.
And then, in between rest days, dun ko po ginagawa yung voice lessons, band rehearsals, dance rehearsals."
Surprisingly, he still finds time for a bit of leisure. Like, after this po, diretso ako sa basketball practice."
Wilbert insisted that it is for his mental and physical well-being.
“Siyempre hindi ko po puwedeng pabayaan yung katawan ko," he said.
And he wakes up early, too.
It's a demanding routine, but one Wilbert embraces as he balances concert preparations, taping commitments and personal well-being, all in pursuit of delivering his best whenever he steps onstage.
