Police arrested two men, rescued a minor, and seized shabu worth P508,572 in separate buy-bust operations in Taguig.
In Barangay Rizal, operatives from the Station Drug Enforcement Unit conducted an entrapment operation on July 6 using a poseur buyer, which led to the arrest of a man and the rescue of a minor classified as a child in conflict with the law.
The adult suspect, identified by his alias “June,” 36, was tagged as a newly identified street level individual.
During the operation, police confiscated eight plastic sachets and a plastic bag containing 51.39 grams of shabu valued at P349,452.
The minor was turned over to the Bahay Pag asa facility for intervention and psychosocial services.
The adult suspect is in police custody pending the filing of charges for violation of Sections 5 (sale) and 11 (possession of dangerous drugs) of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
The seized shabu will be submitted to the Southern Police District Forensic Unit (SPDFU) for laboratory examination.
Southern Police District (SPD) director Brig. Gen. Glenn Oliver Cinoc said, “The Southern Police District remains committed to enforcing the law while ensuring that children are afforded the protection and intervention provided under existing laws.”
In another operation in Purok 5, Barangay Calzada Tipas, police arrested alias “Kevin,” 27, listed as a street level drug personality, and seized 23.4 grams of shabu worth P159,120.
Police also recovered a genuine P500 bill used as marked buy bust money and six pieces of P1,000 boodle money.
The suspect will face a complaint for violation of Republic Act 9165.
