Sampaguita vendor killed by drinking buddies in Antipolo
A 42-year-old sampaguita vendor was killed after being struck with a glass bottle and stabbed following an argument during a drinking session in Antipolo City, Rizal, on July 5.
The Antipolo Component City Police Station (Antipolo CCPS) said the incident occurred around 11:25 p.m. at Sitio Gumamela 2, Phase 5, Barangay Sta. Cruz, where the victim was drinking with two suspects whose identities were not disclosed.
According to witnesses, an altercation suddenly ensued between the victim and the suspects while they were drinking.
Police investigation revealed that one of the suspects struck the victim on the head with a glass bottle, causing him to fall to the ground.
The other suspect allegedly stabbed the victim repeatedly with a bladed weapon in different parts of the body.
Both suspects immediately fled. The victim was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
On Tuesday, July 7, the Rizal Police Provincial Office (Rizal PPO) said the suspects have been arrested and may face homicide charges.
