HYBE launches global search for next generation of music producers
For aspiring music producers hoping to break into K-pop, an opportunity has opened on the global stage.
HYBE, one of South Korea's biggest entertainment companies, has launched a worldwide audition that could give successful applicants the chance to collaborate with the label behind BTS, Seventeen, ENHYPEN and other chart-topping artists.
Called "Next New Creator," the program is being held in partnership with HYBE's labels Bighit Music, Belift Lab, Pledis Entertainment and YX Labels, as well as HYBE Japan.
The audition is open to aspiring pop music producers aged 18 and above from any country, regardless of educational background or professional experience. Applications may be submitted individually or as a team through the program's official website from July 14 to Aug. 12 (KST).
Applicants are required to submit two to five original demo tracks that demonstrate their musical identity and potential.
Shortlisted applicants will advance through several rounds of evaluation before the final selection.
Those chosen in the final round will receive a cash prize of five million won (about $3,276) and the opportunity to collaborate with one of the participating HYBE labels.
HYBE said the program is intended to identify and develop emerging producers while strengthening its global network of music creators.
The company is home to some of K-pop's biggest acts, including BTS, Seventeen, ENHYPEN, LE SSERAFIM, ILLIT, BOYNEXTDOOR, TWS and &TEAM.
