The Southern Police District (SPD) said it has dismantled an alleged drug distribution group operating in Las Piñas City following a buy-bust operation that led to the arrest of four newly classified high-value drug personalities and the seizure of P2.72 million worth of suspected shabu.
SPD director Brig. Gen. Glenn Oliver Cinco said the operation dealt a significant blow to the illegal drug trade in the city after authorities recovered around 400 grams of suspected shabu during the anti-drug operation conducted at about 6:50 p.m. on July 5 on Diego Cera Avenue in Barangay Pulanglupa Uno.
Arrested were suspects identified only by their aliases: “Kalbo,” 32; “Jomar,” 30, both delivery riders; “Christian,” 22; and “Carl,” 25.
Police said the operation was carried out by operatives of the District Drug Enforcement Unit (DDEU), in coordination with the Las Piñas City Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) and Sub-Station 1, following intelligence reports on the group’s alleged illegal drug activities.
Authorities said an undercover police operative successfully purchased suspected shabu from the suspects, prompting law enforcers to immediately arrest them.
Recovered from the suspects were several heat-sealed plastic sachets containing approximately 400 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated Standard Drug Price (SDP) of P2,720,000, the marked buy-bust money placed inside a white envelope, and an Android mobile phone believed to have been used to facilitate the illegal drug transaction.
The four suspects are currently under police custody and have been charged with violations of Sections 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs), 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs), and 26 (Conspiracy to Sell and Possess Dangerous Drugs) of Article II of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Police said the operation is part of the SPD’s intensified campaign against illegal drugs aimed at dismantling drug networks and preventing the proliferation of narcotics in communities across southern Metro Manila.
