The British Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (BCCP), in partnership with 1834 Premium Distilled Gin and Archangel Reserve Premium Dry Gin, brought together seven British distilleries during its World Gin Day 2026 celebration on June 24, highlighting the growing opportunities for United Kingdom spirits in the Philippine market.
Held with the support of Brittany Hotel, Discovery Suites, and The Westin Manila, the event featured 17 premium British gins from producers including Adnams Southwold, East London Liquor Co., Courageous Spirits–Glaswegin, Jawbox Gin, King & Country, G&I Spirit Group Ltd. and Fidra Gin. Manila Bulletin served as the event's media partner.
The gathering reflected the continued growth of the global gin industry, with the market projected to reach $29.5 billion by 2030, while underscoring the expanding commercial and cultural ties between the Philippines and the United Kingdom.
BCCP Chair Sarah McLeod opened the program alongside Ginebra San Miguel Inc. Assistant Vice President and Marketing Manager Ron Molina, who noted the sustained growth of the Philippine gin market. Molina said World Gin Day, which began in the United Kingdom, is now celebrated in more than 30 countries and highlighted the Philippines' position as the world's largest gin market, driven by the enduring popularity of Ginebra San Miguel.

Participating distilleries represented England, Scotland and Northern Ireland, with many seeking to expand their presence in the Philippines.
Adnams was named Best UK Gin Brand, while East London Liquor Co.'s East London Louder Gin received the Best UK Gin award. Courageous Spirits–Glaswegin placed second in the Best UK Gin Brand category, followed by King & Country in third. In the Best UK Gin category, Adnams Sloe Gin finished second, while Jawbox Classic Dry Gin placed third.
The event also featured the eighth Bartending Competition, where Filipino mixologists created original cocktails using British gin paired with locally sourced ingredients, highlighting both local creativity and the versatility of premium British spirits.
BCCP Executive Vice Chairman Chris Nelson said the growing interest among British producers reflects the Philippines' importance as a developing market for premium gin.
"It's great to see more UK gin brands exploring what the Philippines has to offer. This isn't just about one event—it's about long-term trade," Nelson said. "As Asia-Pacific becomes the fastest-growing region, we believe the Philippines will continue to play an increasingly important role for British producers."
