A 23-year-old man caught on video robbing an online seller at gunpoint was arrested three days later after police found him carrying a firearm and a hand grenade in Taguig City.
The suspect, identified as alias Joshua, was pinpointed by his victim, alias Andrew, as one of the two men who robbed him on July 1 at Plaza 6 in Barangay North Signal, Taguig.
During the meet up, Joshua and a companion held him at gunpoint and took four iPhones, a Vivo Y02 cellphone, and P25,000 in cash.
On July 4, Taguig police arrested Joshua along General Malvar Street in Barangay South Signal for another offense. Officers saw him openly carrying and inspecting a firearm, and when asked to present documents, he failed to do so.
Police confiscated a .45-caliber Armscor pistol loaded with a magazine containing seven live rounds, along with a hand grenade.
Joshua will face robbery charges in addition to earlier complaints filed for violation of Section 28 of Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act) and Republic Act 9516 (Illegal Possession of Explosives).
Brig. Gen. Glenn Oliver Cinco of the Southern Police District commended the team for the arrest.
