SLAIN police officer Arnejo Jornadal received a posthomous award on Saturday, July 4.
ZAMBOANGA CITY – The Police Regional Office-9 conferred a posthumous award on a police officer who was killed in Dumalinao, Zamboanga del Sur last week.
PRO-9 Director Police Brig. Gen. Dennis Esguerra visited the wake of Police Patrolman Armejo Jornadal of the 2nd Zamboanga del Sur Provincial Mobile Force Company on Saturday, July 4.
Esguerra condoled and vowed justice to the Jordanal’s family.
Meanwhile, Esguerra visited the facility where the suspect, another police officer, was detained.
Esguerra ordered investigators to push forward with the probe and vowed no special treatment in the pursuit of justice for Jornadal. “We will ensure that justice is served swiftly, fairly and without exception,” said Esguerra.
Jornadal was traveling from Dumalinao towards the municipality of Guipos, Zamboanga del Sur at 5 p.m. when he was gunned down by the suspect, Police Staff Sgt. Archie Silod Bazan, 33, assigned to the Margosatubig, Zamboanga del Sur Municipal Police Station.
Bazan surrendered to authorities and admitted his participation in the crime.
