Pateros Mayor Gerald German ordered two traffic enforcers to explain after they were photographed riding a motorcycle without helmets on B. Morcilla Street.
German summoned the personnel to his office on July 6 and issued them a notice to explain, citing “significant public attention and adverse comments” over the incident involving staff of the Pateros Business District and Administration Office (PBDAO).
He said their actions may constitute violations of traffic laws and municipal ordinances requiring protective helmets, and could amount to conduct prejudicial to the service or simple misconduct.
The mayor directed the enforcers to submit written explanations within 48 hours, warning that failure to do so would waive their right to be heard and allow his office to resolve the case.
