Jelai Andres says marriage to Jon Gutierrez officially annulled
Content creator Jelai Andres has announced that her marriage to rapper Jon Gutierrez has officially been annulled, describing the court decision as the closing of one of the most difficult chapters of her life.
In a recent YouTube vlog, Andres shared the news with her family and close friends, who initially thought she was about to announce a pregnancy before she revealed the annulment.
The announcement drew an emotional reaction from those present, including fellow content creator Zeinab Harake.
"Kung alam niyo lang kung gaano niya katagal inintay 'to," Harake said.
Andres said she chose to remain single following her separation from Gutierrez to focus on her personal growth and healing.
After noon, naging masaya ako. Super saya ko," she said.
She added that learning to love herself helped her move forward.
Among those visibly emotional was content creator Donnalyn Bartolome, who reflected on the hardships Andres endured during the breakdown of her marriage.
Although Andres said she had already healed emotionally, she described the annulment as providing a sense of closure.
Andres and Gutierrez began dating in 2015, got engaged in 2017, and married in 2018. Their relationship was marked by several public breakups and reconciliations following allegations of infidelity.
The couple separated in 2021. Andres later filed complaints for concubinage and violation of the Violence Against Women and Their Children Act against Gutierrez.
Reflecting on the annulment, Andres said it symbolized the official end of a painful period in her life.
She ended her vlog by encouraging viewers to take time to truly know the person they choose to marry, value themselves, and trust God's guidance through life's challenges.
