A 23 year old man was arrested Thursday afternoon, July 2, after allegedly stealing a Honda Click motorcycle in Barangay San Agustin, Novaliches, Quezon City. He was chased by the owner and later cornered by responding police officers.
Police said the victim had just alighted from a public utility tricycle around 3 p.m. when he saw the suspect, identified only as alias “EJ,” riding away with his motorcycle.
The victim immediately gave chase and flagged down patrolling personnel of the Novaliches Police Station (PS 4), who joined the pursuit, arrested the suspect, and recovered the stolen vehicle.
Authorities later found that the suspect had previously been charged with violating Republic Act No. 10883, or the New Anti Carnapping Act of 2016, in November 2025.
The suspect remains under police custody and will face another charge for violation of R.A. No. 10883 before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office.
