While the station did not identify the school or the individual involved, it said it takes such claims very seriously.
“In light of the unfortunate events, particularly the tragic shooting at San Jose National High School in Tacloban City, our commitment to maintaining law and order has never been more critical,” it said.
To enhance safety in schools across the city, the police implemented heightened security measures, including increased police visibility and preventive patrols.
It also assured the public that they are actively collaborating with school authorities to reinforce safety and security protocols.
Makati police recently conducted an Active Shooter Simulation Exercise to enhance the preparedness of students and staff for critical incidents.
Meanwhile, police said they are investigating the spread of false information that violates regulations on misleading content.
They also urged the public to remain calm and refrain from spreading rumors or imaginary stories that can create unnecessary panic.
“The Makati City Police Station is steadfast in its mission to promote a culture of preparedness through ongoing collaboration with educational institutions and the community, ensuring a safer, more resilient learning environment,” it stated.
