A 59-year-old man allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol escaped unharmed after his sport utility vehicle (SUV) slammed into concrete barriers along the eastbound lane of Commonwealth Avenue in Quezon City before dawn on Saturday, July 4.
The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Traffic Enforcement Unit Sector 5 said the SUV was traveling from Don Antonio Drive toward Fairview when it struck the barriers at around 12:45 a.m.
The impact heavily damaged the front of the vehicle and destroyed several concrete barriers, but no other injuries were reported.
Police said the driver had already gone home after the incident.
The QCPD Traffic Sector 5 is continuing its investigation into the crash.
