“History has been made by our Magnificent Seven!” declared Mayor Ruffy Biazon as he congratulated the pioneer batch of the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Muntinlupa–Ospital ng Muntinlupa (PLMun–OsMun) College of Medicine.
The seven graduates are Princess Garcia, Aileen Mae Arban, Maxine Barlaw, Tricia Guevarra, Sophia Laranan, Ana Marie Ramos, and Jaycee Mae Rufino.
Garcia emerged as the top graduate of the batch. She previously ranked in the top 10 of the January 2021 Medical Technologist Licensure Examination.
The College of Medicine was established in 2022 under the leadership of former mayor and now Rep. Jaime Fresnedi, and continued under Mayor Biazon.
Through its Doctor of Medicine program, PLMun became the first local university in the country to offer the degree.
“You are our pioneering graduates, and each of you is the realization of a beautiful vision: for Muntinlupa to raise its own homegrown medical professionals. Batch 1, our city needs you. Never lose your empathy, never stop learning, and most of all, go forth and bring healing to our people,” Biazon told the graduates.
All seven were full scholars of the Muntinlupa City government under the Law and Medicine Program, with additional sponsorship from former Transportation Secretary Art Tugade.
