Japanese-American, Thailand-based actor Luke Plowden was pleasantly surprised to be greeted warmly by Filipinos during his recent visit.
Luke shared his experience of meeting kids in Tondo for a charity event.
"I gotta say, one of the best experiences, I’m only in the Philippines for two days, but it’s one of the best experiences in my life. We went to Tondo and we met so many wonderful kids there. It was all smiles, it’s around 150 wonderful smiling kids."
According to the actor, he got to interact with the kids and perform a song for them during the event.
"I sang some songs for them, and they’re a little shy, so I sat down and got to talk. I let them come to me and ask questions. They were really curious. It’s so cute. Wonderful experience, and then we got to hand out meals," he added.
Aside from the charity event, Luke walked the ramp for Rokid AI Neo Fashion Glasses along with several local celebrities including actress Arci Muñoz, Miss World Philippines Gwen Fourniol, Miss Globe Maureen Montagne, Jam and Haru, grand winners of Face of the Philippines, singer Sam Hashimoto, content creator Yukio, and Misbah Arshad, who represented Pakistan at Miss International and Miss Supranational.
Luke's fans were allowed to get close to him and have their photos taken before the fashion show started.
He is deeply grateful for the warm welcome he received from the Filipinos.
"I can’t say enough. I mean, I’m ready to receive the love and to give love as much as I can, come back as much as possible, enjoy the country, enjoy the people," he said.
