Authorities conducted a security inspection at Francisco P. Felix Memorial National High School in Cainta, Rizal, to ensure the safety of students and teachers following an online bomb and shooting threat.
On Facebook, some users -- including parents of students -- shared screenshots of an alleged threat posted by three fake accounts on Thursday, July 2. The posts warned that the school would be bombed and that teachers of Grades 8 and 10 would be shot the next day, Friday, July 3.
A screengrab of the online bomb and shooting threat posted by the Facebook account "Shipped Bahala" targeting teachers at Francisco P. Felix Memorial National High School in Cainta, Rizal.
Police said the three accounts, namely "Shipped Bahala," "Hindi Ako Yun Haha," and "Shasha Bern," may have been operated by a single individual who is believed to be a student of the school.
The threats contained profanities and cited the alleged humiliation of students by teachers as the motive.
An account using the name "Shipped Bahala" first sent a message to the school's Facebook Messenger before posting the same message publicly, saying:
I will bomb the entire Rose Pack. I will also shoot you. I can blow it up because I am a member of a syndicate. You're all too fond of humiliating students in class. Grade 10 teachers, f*** you. I will shoot you. That will be your last day of teaching. The same goes for the Grade 8 teachers. F*** you. I've been planning this for a long time. Advance condolence).”
Another account posted: “Wag na kayo mag alala guys malay nyo hindi namin gawin bukas malay n'yo sa Lunes o sa susunod na araw hahahah masu-surprise na lang (Don't worry, guys. Maybe we won't do it tomorrow. Maybe it'll be on Monday or another day. It'll just be a surprise).”
It added: “May dahilan kung bakit kami nagkakaganto dahil sa mga teacher na namamahiya sa klase kaya sasaksakin namin sila HAHAHAHAH (There is a reason why we're doing this. It's because of teachers who humiliate students in class, so we will stab them).”
The school administration immediately reported the threats to authorities, prompting inspections inside and outside the campus. No bomb or other immediate threat was found.
Meanwhile, some parents expressed concern for their children's safety, with some saying they would keep their children at home despite police assurances.
“Lakas ng kaba ko. Hindi ko tuloy papasukin anak ko bukas. Safety first muna (I'm really worried, so I won't be sending my child to school tomorrow. Safety first),” one mother said.
“Di ko sila papasukin mahirap na, ‘di baleng masabihan na praning na nanay, importante safe mga anak ko (I won't let them go to school. It's better to be safe than sorry. I don't mind being called a paranoid mother, as long as my children are safe),” another mother said.
Authorities said they are investigating the incident and conducting backtracking, with the assistance of their cybercrime unit, to identify those behind the online threats.
The school will also investigate allegations of teachers humiliating students.
Despite authorities declaring that no immediate threat was found, the school has heightened security measures to ensure the safety of students, teachers, and staff while the investigation continues.
