Several roads in Manila will be closed starting 4:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 2, as traffic management measures take effect for the Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) Peace Rally.
Affected roads include the stretch of C.M. Recto Avenue from Nicanor Reyes Street to Mendiola Street, the stretch of Legarda Street from Figueras Street to San Rafael Street, the stretch of Magallanes Drive from Jones Bridge to MacArthur Bridge, the entire Ayala Bridge, and the eastbound lane of Ayala Boulevard from San Marcelino Street to Romualdez Street.
Authorities will also implement the following traffic rerouting schemes:
CRB Mendiola
Vehicles coming from Quezon Boulevard and C.M. Recto Avenue bound for Mendiola Street shall turn left at Nicanor Reyes Street.
Vehicles coming from Sta. Mesa via Legarda Street bound for C.M. Recto Avenue shall turn right at Figueras Street, proceed to Earnshaw Street, then turn left at Sergio H. Loyola Street.
Vehicles coming from P. Casal Street bound for Mendiola Street shall turn left at San Rafael Street, continue to Bilibid Viejo Street, then proceed to Quezon Boulevard.
Liwasang Bonifacio
Vehicles coming from the northbound lane of P. Burgos Avenue intending to use Magallanes Drive shall proceed straight to Jones Bridge.
Vehicles coming from C. Muñoz Street may use P. Burgos Avenue.
Vehicles coming from MacArthur Bridge intending to use Magallanes Drive shall proceed straight to the southbound lane of P. Burgos Avenue.
Ayala Bridge
Vehicles coming from Romualdez Street bound for Ayala Bridge shall turn left at Ayala Boulevard, then right at Taft Avenue, or proceed straight to Natividad Lopez Street, turn right at A. Villegas Street, then left at C. Muñoz Street.
Vehicles coming from San Marcelino Street bound for Ayala Bridge shall turn right at Ayala Boulevard, then right at Taft Avenue, or proceed straight along San Marcelino Street before turning left at United Nations Avenue.
Vehicles coming from the eastbound lane of Ayala Boulevard intending to use Ayala Bridge shall turn left at Natividad Lopez Street. Vehicles coming from Carlos Palanca Street bound for Ayala Bridge shall turn left at P. Casal Street.
Vehicles coming from P. Casal Street bound for Ayala Bridge shall turn right at Carlos Palanca Street.
The Manila City Government advised motorists to plan their trips ahead, use alternative routes, and expect heavier traffic in areas affected by the road closures.
