The turnover was held under the city’s In-City Vertical Housing Program during a ceremony at Bulwagang Villegas in Manila City Hall.
Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso led the turnover with Vice Mayor Chi Atienza, Manila Health Department Officer-in-Charge Director Dr. Grace Padilla, and Manila Urban Settlements Office Officer-in-Charge Ernesto Oliveros.
Aside from the 40 health workers, 25 walk-in awardees who qualified under the city’s housing program also received units.
The beneficiaries will move into their new homes at San Lazaro Residences, Pedro Gil Residences, and San Sebastian Residences.
The city government said each housing site features two‑bedroom units along with amenities such as health centers, function rooms, and round‑the‑clock security.
Domagoso reminded the new homeowners to maintain cleanliness, discipline, and concern for their neighbors in their new communities.
“Kayo ay tumanggap ng isang malinis na bahay at pamayanan. Panatilihin ninyo itong malinis kasi hindi naman ako ang titira diyan, kayo rin. Ipagkusa na ang disiplina. Ipagmalasakit ninyo ang inyong sarili at inyong kapitbahay (You received a clean home and community. Keep it clean because I will not be the one living there, you will. Practice discipline and show concern for yourselves and your neighbors),” Domagoso said.
The mayor said the city government will continue and expand the in-city housing program to provide Manileños with decent, safe, and affordable homes.
He said the program aims to improve the quality of life of residents and restore their dignity through proper housing.
