The Department of Sanitation and Cleanup Works of Quezon City (DSQC), in coordination with the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), led the cleanup operations along White Plains Avenue, the People Power Monument area, and portions of EDSA near Camp Aguinaldo.
INC members said they also assisted in clearing the area and restoring cleanliness after the gathering, rejecting claims circulating online that the site was left in poor condition.
Bowie Cruz of the DSQC said the collected waste mainly consisted of plastic bottles, food containers, and other food packaging materials.
“More or less, we collected three or more truckloads of garbage since last night. After the INC members left, the cleanup operations continued until this morning. The usual waste collected were plastic bottles and food containers, especially food containers, and there were many plastic bottles,” Cruz said.
The cleanup operations continued after INC members moved their rally to Liwasang Bonifacio on Thursday following the Quezon City government’s decision not to extend their permit for the EDSA gathering.
