Taiwan passport holders will continue to enjoy visa-free entry to the Philippines for stays of up to 14 days after the Philippine government extended the arrangement for another year.
The Manila Economic and Cultural Office (MECO) announced on Tuesday, June 30, that the visa-free privilege for Taiwanese travelers will remain in effect from July 1, 2026, until June 30, 2027.
MECO said the move was in line with the Philippine government's policy of observing reciprocity in visa privileges granted to Philippine passport holders traveling to Taiwan.
"In line with the Philippine government's directive to observe reciprocity in the visa-free privileges granted to Philippine passport holders traveling to Taiwan, Taiwan passport holders may enter the Philippines without a visa for a stay not exceeding fourteen (14) days," the office said.
The extension effectively renews the same arrangement first granted to Taiwan passport holders on July 1, 2025.
MECO said the visa-free privilege remains non-extendible and cannot be converted into other Philippine visa categories.
Taiwanese travelers who intend to stay in the Philippines for more than 14 days will still be required to secure the appropriate visa before entering the country.
The office added that the standard travel requirements and procedures that have been in effect since July 1, 2025, will continue to apply.
The Philippines and Taiwan currently extend visa-free entry privileges to each other's citizens as part of efforts to promote tourism, business travel, and people-to-people exchanges.
Taiwan has long been one of the most popular overseas destinations for Filipino tourists and overseas workers, while the Philippines remains a major destination for Taiwanese visitors in Southeast Asia.
